Julian Barriento Group 2 Reflections: 2 of the most important things in life are our communication and culture. Culture is our beliefs and traditions in our family or country, a group of people that share a religon, or that simply share a love for something like perhaps a film. Culture is so important because it brings people together, it is a way of life in many ways.

Group 1 did a great job in explaining communication and taught me quite a few things about it. They presented the chapter 3 Integral commuication, stating how intergral communication is interaction between people with different cultures and how that could be challenging. The video they showed explained it perfectly and how the kid had different ways of speaking to people with different cultures than him. It showed how people can almost change there culture for other people, like a swtch in the way they live in order to communicate with any other culture. Something I think all of us do from time to time in order to fit in.

Group 2 was my group and we talked about chapter 9 Communicating in groups. Which are groups of people that interact with eachother constantly, like in school clubs to friend groups, family groups or even study groups. My group did an excellent job in explaining the different groups and what they mean, such as a family and how they can be defined as a group of people who communicate through history and identity. We also discusssed the conficts in groups and how they can really affect the group and how to resolve this confict.

Finally Group 3 presented chapter 10 group leadership and problem solving. They talked about how integral a leadership role is in a group and how it can really affect how the group works. The leader is relied on to facilitate all the work and explain how we go about doing this work. But there are other roles in the group that are also importanat, such as givers, analyzers or seekers. There presentation was great in showing how groups need all these roles in order to really work.

All in all, I think everyone did a great job presenting each chapter and I learned alot about all of these topics in communication.

Samira Gonzalez Communication is very important and plays a big role in our lives. Good communication skills are essential and allows all of us to understand information more accurately and quickly. Being able to communicate effectively is a vital life skill. All the groups presentations have given examples and explained their part to make this valid. In group 1, they presented chapter 3 which talks about intercultural communication.
